It's a shame stick turn isn't included in the game, but oh well. the game is pretty good now, eh? Combo moves where you run around and soften up the demons, then quickly teleport smash them feels really nice. It works, and I'm tired of messing with this I just want to play the game already!ĪNNNND. I'm not sure if you have to do the console commands AND use the custom binding, but that's what I did. I hope you guys have as much fun with this game as I did!! Go make some demons cry
#Doom vfr steam mod
It may be a bit difficult to turn while running however, so I also created a Community Workshop controller binding called "DOOM VFR Snap Turn on Grips" that rebinds the Shield Burst to X, the Weapon Mod to A, and lets the grips turn you left and right (so it's easier to pull off those sweet 180 moves). This will bind your turn right and left to your A and X buttons on your Touch controllers. Make sure you make it to the next savepoint in the game in order for it to save your bindings. Use these commands EXACTLY, including the quotation marks: Press the tilde ( ~ ) key to open the console

In order to enable Smooth Turn (I don't know how to make it snap turn, sorry), do the following
#Doom vfr steam update
After the latest update it runs a lot better on Oculus, but since there isn't any snap/smooth turn in the game, you can get tangled up real quick. Hi there! With DOOM Eternal coming up, I just wanted to let you guys know that I figured out how to enable smooth turning in DOOM VFR. So do all of what it says below (**THE FOLLOWING IS PASTED FROM THE OCULUS SUBREDDIT**) Turning with the grip buttons is a bit weird at first, but it works well. Then go into controller bindings (left hand menu button) and choose the community made binding mentioned below. Now, run the game, pause it and make the following changes in the console. First, for the built-in update that includes smooth locomotion, you must NOT be running a beta version of the game (right click on the game in your library list, go to betas tab and opt out).

I can confirm the following 'mod' works for Rift S SMOOTH TURNING in July of 2020, no further mods needed.
